Infertility Nurse Practitioner Needed

Description

Provide comprehensive and primary patient care at our state of the art fertility center.

Essential Duties

1. Assess patient's past medical history and determine health and emotional status through interview and/or physical examination; prepare infertility evaluation and treatment plans.

2. Perform routine gynecological exams, transvaginal ultrasound exams and intra-uterine inseminations; monitor Clomid cycle, draw blood from patients and prepare sperm for insemination; perform hysterosalpingograms (HSG), saline infusion sonohysterography (SIS) and sonohysterograms (SHG).

3. Determine need for additional evaluation or refer patient to other specialists or services as needed.

4. Provide on-going emotional support to patient and families and determine need for continued counseling; provide patient counseling; encourage compliance with treatment plan through explanations, assessment of patient understanding and regular patient monitoring.

5. Independently or in collaboration with health care team members, select and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures; evaluate and monitor patient's reaction to medications and/or research study drugs and recommend change in prescribed dosage or termination of medication.

Education and Experience
1. Master's Degree in Nursing.
Additional Education and Experience
1. Experience in infertility services.
Skills & Abilities
1. Well developed skills in assessment, interviewing, counseling, problem-resolution, and crisis intervention.

2. Ability to communicate through oral and written expression.

3. Excellent skill in training, analysis and organization.
4. Ability to perform Ultrasound examinations and Intra-uterine inseminations.

5. Experience with phlebotomy, HSG, SIS and SHG.
